So Jesus died for all of humanity, and the mission, the master plan, was complete. Now the BIG PROBLEM is solved. We can be in the presence of God and He won't see our sin/evil/bad stuff. Jesus payed the price - he was an offering - he was the sacrifice. We're on his team now wearing the correct uniform. So when God sees us, his reaction is something like, "Hey who's this guy, oh wait, He's got the same uniform as my boy, Jesus. Cool! I know you! We're all friends here, come on down! Let me show you around my house.....want some food?.....tired?.....here have some treasure.....etc." And all this was a GIFT FROM GOD. How to do get it? Like any regular gift, you just take it. Yes, it's free! (otherwise it wouldn't relly be a gift then.....) With this gift we can be washed clean of our darkness and we can be with God. Receiving the gift is very simple. Just admit that you need some MAJOR help, believe that Jesus was the Son of God, and believe that this gift thing is for real (cuz it IS!). Then make God your leader, your new boss, the new coach. Just believe, have some faith (yes, kinda like that song....) Then the old will be forgetten and you will get a clean slate.
